Do You Live Long Distances From Your Family? I do, we moved over 40hrs drive away just 2 months after our first grandchild was born. I am sure you will understand how my heart aches to be near him. I am very thankful that my daughter is enjoys her computer and uploads her pictures onto PhotoBucket. She then shares her albums with me and I am able to get a pretty good idea of how the bub is progressing. Now and then they will upload a short video and I am all smiles. Just yesterday, they uploaded a video of bub's in the pool going under the water. Just listening to his little shrieks of joy lifted my heart.

Skype Is The Icing On The Cake Though

My daughter will call/sms me to turn on Skype. I know I am in for a treat when she does this. Usually she will place the laptop in front of bubs and I can watch him play on the floor, eat his meal, or play in his chairs. I can listen to him chatting away, and the bonus is, he can see me as well, listen to me talking to him. It is wonderful to see his face light up and try to make his way over to the laptop. My daughter is able to sit on the couch and fold up the washing or do something nearby and I can call out to her if he has dropped his spoon or tell her if he is getting too tired etc.

I can carry my laptop around the house as well, so I am able to do things as well as enjoy our grandson. As much as modern technology baffles me at times, (especially remote controls), I am very thankful when it bridges the gaps between our loved ones. I just wish I could reach my arms through the screen and give bubs a big cuddle.

I am a married mother of 4 grown children. My interests include my laptop, the internet, reading, walking, family and catching up with friends over coffee. You can find me at http://sharondebruyn.com and http://regularrecipes.blogspot.com.

Buyer's Market and Its Latest Trend
Real estate industry has been one of the volatile sectors in the economy. It is greatly affected with several issues that are hitting the global market. And this can be seen in the buyer's market latest trend. During the start of this year, the demands for realities have been slowing down.

Real Estate Team
In this big and bold information age you would be hard pressed to name any business that operates from start to finish with one individual. In fact I would argue it's impossible to name even one, and I mean from start to finish. Not even an artist or author works alone.

Should I Watch the News?
I was just looking around doing some Google searches and I keyed "should I watch the news." I read a few of the articles and noted some of the objections for not watching the news. Now, at this point I should mention that I do not watch any news. This has been a practice of mine for a long time. So I was interested in what people had to say.

How Long Can the Mainstream News Media Survive?
Surfing the internet the other day, I saw yet another headline about lower and lower ratings for the Cable News Network. I'm old enough to remember when CNN first came out, and the skeptical reaction it got from the general public.
